  • Tailgating Hacks 101

Tailgating parties can be a blast, but planning them can be stressful and time consuming! Make your life easier with these ingenious tailgating hacks, so you can enjoy the party on gameday!

    1. Tailgating Toolbox

Make sure you have everything you need by packing a toolbox with tailgating essentials. Use the main compartment for things like spatulas, tongs, skewers, and other cooking tools. Fill the middle compartment with items such as trash bags, wet wipes, sunscreen, bandages, and bug spray. In the bottom drawer, you can store condiments, spices, and seasonings. Look online for full lists of things you may need so you don't forget anything!

    2. Bottle Opener

Use a ribbon to tie your bottle opener to the bucket or ice chest containing the bottled drinks. This way the bottle opener won't get misplaced and everyone always knows exactly where it is. Also, don't panic if you forget to bring one. It might take you a few tries, but the metal piece inside the door jams of your vehicle can be used as a bottle opener too!

    3. Magnetic Cozy

Never lose your drink again! Use magnets to attach them to the side of your car. Just glue two-three strong neodymium magnets to one side of your favorite cozy. Be sure to use extra-strength glue so it will stay and hold the weight of your drink. Give everyone at the party their own unique cozy so their drinks don't get mixed up.

    4. Condiment Carrier

Use a six-pack or drink holder as a condiment organizer. You can even use them to hold cups of dip, veggies, and other finger foods. Decorate it with wrapping paper for a more festive look.

    5. Utensil Holder

Cute and functional! Paint a mason jar to look like a football and fill it with utensils. If you don't have a secure napkin holder, wrap the napkins around utensil sets. There's nothing worse than chasing after fly-away napkins at a party!

    6. Water Balloon Ice

Skip the ice and freeze water balloons in your team's colors instead. This will keep your drinks cold, without getting them wet from melted ice. Plus it looks way more festive! Can't get your hands on any water balloons? Freezing a few of the water bottles is a great option too! This way, you can save room and drink them when they melt!

    7. Drink Lids

Keep insects and debris out of your beverages by using cupcake liners as drink lids. Just punch a hole for the straw and place it upside down over the top of the cup. If you use a mason jar, you can also secure it in place with the ring. Be sure to show your school spirit by using liners in your school's colors!

    8. Hand Washing Station

Use a large empty laundry detergent dispenser with a spigot as a hand-washing station. Take it to the next level by using bungee cords to attach a paper towel dispenser to the top. Don't forget the soap dispenser!

  • Stylist Says!

Our new series, “Stylist Says…” will feature favorites and trends of our Head Stylist, Chappell. Read up and discover some new trends that may soon become your favorites!

    1. Gold. Graphic. Studs.
I have been crushing on these particular sharks tooth studs! They have everything I love (and that’s trending) all rolled into one fantastic piece. Gold has been a popular color for a while now and I don’t see it going anywhere any time soon. It is the perfect accent to any jewelry, accessory, or home decor piece because it adds just a touch of sophistication and glamour. Graphic statement designs are all the rage. From shirts to jewelry, dainty designs and symbols are all over the place. And studs are the perfect way to wear this trend!

    2. Statement Earrings (and Kendra Scott, duh!)
Move over, statement necklace. The BOLD statement earring is here! You know when you have a top with a beautifully embellished neckline and you don’t want to pair a necklace with it because it would take away from the shirt?! We have all been there. Well, I (and Kendra Scott) have the perfect solution for you: the statement earring. A bold little number to brighten up your office attire and spice up your LBD!

    3. Stackable Bracelets. With Tassels.
Add some bohemian flare to your everyday arm candy with tassels! ‘70s style is back, especially this fall, and this is an easy and affordable way to stay on trend. Tassels are not exclusive to bracelets- you can find them adorning necklaces, earrings, and even as a keychain!

    4. Neutrals (and the Naked Palette)
Neutrals are always a must-have no matter the season or style. One of my constant crushes will always be the Urban Decay Naked Palette: the perfect eyeshadow for anyone. PLUS, all of the above trends pair perfectly with neutral pieces. I am a lover of neutrals because you can keep your style toned down or you can pick it up by adding a few key accessories.

    5. Handdrawn iPhone Cases
I don’t know if I am more in love with the gold iPhone or these feminine handdrawn style cases. Either way, these Metaluxe cases are the perfect way to showcase your style and still show up the glorious gold glow of your iPhone (and we all know I love gold)!

    6. Inslee Haynes
Inslee had been one of my longtime crushes. She does beautiful watercolor portraits from the everyday trendy girl to stunning figure studies of ballerinas. She captures the true essence of her subject and I adore her playful paintings. With each “Stylist Says…” I will incorporate a new Inslee work of art in the style of the board.
